Toddlers at this age are prone to various infections as most of the time in the day, they are exposed to germs and bacteria more than adults. So 6-8 bouts of cold/flu and/or ear infections in a year are normal. Hope you breastfeed your child for complete first 6 months of life. Lack of breastfeeding is the most important reason behind good immunity in children. There are healthy habits that you can adopt as a family that will boost your child’s immunity:

    1. Eat more fruits and vegetables like beans, sprouts, oranges and strawberries as they are the richest natural source of vitamin C which helps in boosting natural immunity.

    2. Boost sleep time: your pre-schooler would need 10 hours of sleep in a day as sleep deprivation can make you more susceptible to illness as it reduces natural killer cells.

    3. Guard them against germ spread by making sure they wash their hands often and with good antibacterial soap. Good hygiene at this age will give good results in the years to come.
