Dr. Nikhil Kumar

The Director of the Cardiology department. Dr. Nikhil Kumar has over 18 years of experience in his field of Interventional, Non-invasive and Clinical Cardiology. He is an MBBS Graduate from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and completed his MD (Medicine) from the same institute in 1990. Dr. Nikhil Kumar has also done his DM (Cardiology) from P.G.I.M.E.R., Chandigarh in 1999. He has served in the Indian Army and has been associated with several prestigious organizations like Army Hospital R & R , New Delhi as Professor & Head - Cardiology. His previous assignments have been with Metro Group of Hospitals, New Delhi & Yashoda Superspeciality Hospitals where he was Director Cardiology. Dr. Kumar has special expertise in Complex Coronary Angioplasty, Valvuloplasty, Device Closure of Shunt Lesions, Pacemaker and AICD implantations, Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy and Renal, Peripheral and Carotid Angioplasty and Stenting. He has many publications in National & International journals to his credit and also actively participates in Conferences and CMEs. While serving with the Armed Forces, he was awarded the General Officer Commanding in Chief's Commendation and the Chief of Army Staff's Commendation for meritorious service in 2001 and 2006 respectively. He is a Member of the Cardiological Society of India, Endovascular Society of India, Indian Heart Rhythm Society, and the Indian College of Cardiology.
