The liver’s work is to process blood and filter toxins from our body. It also produces proteins, important blood components, glucagon and bile, which helps us to digest food. It also stores glucose and vitamins. HCV causes inflammation that interrupts the liver’s ability to work these important functions. And thus HCV affects the liver.
