My mother (61 years old) underwent a left radical nephrectomy done by Dr. Hardik Dodia. His preferred method was to remove the kidney stone from the second kidney and then perform a renal scan to assess the health of the soon-to-be single kidney following the scheduled radical nephrectomy, and he counseled us on RIRS.
