The following pre-procedure guidelines will be taken care of by the doctor and some of them will also need to be followed by you:

• Determining the size and location of stones - Before the operation, the doctor will determine the size, number, and location of stones. He/she will inject a dye into a vein that travels through the kidney and ureter to highlight the stones. They are then seen by the doctor on an X-ray.

- The patient is required to take the medication as prescribed by the doctor as it will prevent infection.
- Drinking plenty of water in the next few days for easy passage of stones is also recommended.
- Patients undergoing this treatment can resume normal activities from the very next day. However, they should avoid high-intensity workouts and follow up with the doctor whenever required
