He completed his MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences situated in Sewagram (MGIMS) during the year 1981. He then went on to pursue MD in General Medicine from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram (MGIMS) in 1984. Dr. Ajay Ghambhir later decided to specialise in pediatrics and completed MD in Pediatrics also from MGIMS in 1986. Dr. Ajay Ghambhir currently practises for the Saroj Hospital as a Sr. Consultant of Pediatrics.
