Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya is a renowned Developmental Paediatrician based at Child Development Centre, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata having a vast experience of 27 years in the field of Paediatrics, Neonatology and Developmental Paediatrics, especially Autism. He has trained and worked in the UK for 12 years and probably he is the only Developmental Paediatrician in India who is equipped to use Gold Standard Diagnostic Tools for Autism with Griffiths tool and other diagnostic assessment tools like Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID-III), ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), ADI-R ( Autism Diagnostic Interview) & Bayleys III to assess through Gold Standard techniques the mental development of autistic children.
While working in London, he has developed a special interest in Developmental Paediatrics. The Child Development Centre of Apollo Gleneagles Hospital has become a reality with his sheer determination. It is India’s first integrated Child Development Centre in the corporate healthcare sector, implications of which will reverberate in days to come. Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya is in the pioneering group of the World Health Organization, 27 of whom met in Vancouver, Canada from all over the world in June 2013 to set Core Standards for ICF (International Classification of Functioning) in children.
They worked on Cerebral Palsy as their pioneering model. He has also been the Academic In-charge of Paediatric Department, AGH since 01st January 2009 and he has also been the organizing secretary of the 6th Annual International Paediatric Conference of AGH with IAP, WB. Dr. Bhattacharya has completed his education from Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK and Royal College of Physician, London. He is also a member of British Medical association and Indian Medical Association.
