Dr Avtar Singh is the Head of Department in the Department of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement Surgery at Amandeep Hospital Amritsar. He has over 38 years of experience, with 26 years of experience in his field. His areas of interests include robot assisted joint replacement, orthopaedic and joint surgeries, orthopaedic multi trauma management, arthroscopic and sports medicine, foot and ankle surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, reconstructive surgery and deformity correction, orthopaedic oncology, fracture management, among others. Dr Avtar Singh holds an MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Gurunanak University and an MS in Orthopaedics from Government Medical College Amritsar. He also holds an MCh in Orthopaedics from American Institute of Medicine. Dr Avtar Singh has performed over 1.25 lakh orthopaedic surgeries, 18,000 joint replacement surgeries, in his career and is the first Punjabi doctor to perform robotic knee surgery in India.
