Ms Bakul Dua is a licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. In over ten years of her medical experience, she has established a high repute for her clinical, research and advocacy work. Her areas of interest include Adolescent Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Body Image Concerns, Anxiety, Relationship difficulties, OCD, Queer-Affirmative Psychotherapy and more.
Ms Bakul Dua is currently practicing at Fortis La Femme. She is undergoing training in mentalization-based therapy (MBT). Apart from this, she is actively involved in research projects on psychotherapy in the context of Indian society. Her initial training was in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. But she follows a therapeutic approach. It enables her to deal with issues across humanistic, attachment, family systems, and psychodynamic thought.
A graduate from St. Stephens College, Ms Bakul Dua received her training at NIMHANS. She bagged the esteemed M.V. Govindaswamy Gold Medal. She further pursued a masters degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). There, she was awarded the Institute Gold Medal. She has completed her MSc from the eminent London School of Economics, UK. She is known for her LGBTQ+ affirmative approach. Though she is trained to treat mental illnesses as biologically based, she does not fail to consider evidence-based science.
