Dr. Chethana D

Dr. Chethana D is a Consultant - Rheumatology at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore. After completing her MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, Dr. Chethana D went to the United Kingdom to pursue higher training, completed MRCP Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians. As she has always held a keen interest in Rheumatology, Dr. Chethana D went on to do a specialization in the field. She has done laboratory-based research when she was a Clinical Research Fellow in Rheumatology at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK. After completing her research, she then joined the prestigious Cambridge Deanery for Superspecialty training in Rheumatology and obtained Certificate of completion of training (CCT) in Rheumatology in 2013. She has gained 9 years of experience in the field of Rheumatology.

On returning to India, Dr. Chethana D worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore and joined Aster CMI, Bangalore earlier this year. Over the years, Dr. Chethana D has gained expertise in managing all rheumatological conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic, reactive, crystal arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, vasculitis like wegeners granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis, takayasu’s arteritis, SLE, systemic sclerosis, myositis, sarcoidosis and chronic pain. She has a special interest in Vasculitis, having worked with experts in the filed in UK. Some of the services offered by Dr. Chethana are intra-articular (joint) injections, soft tissue injections and is trained in performing muscle and salivary gland biopsies.
