Dr. D Shanmugha Sundaram

Dr. D Shanmugha Sundaram is an Interventional Cardiologist in Apollo Speciality Hospital, OMR and Apollo Clinic, Velachery. He is also associated with Vijaya Hospital, PSG Hospital and at Nalam Heart Care clinic, Coimbatore. He completed his MBBS in 2001 from the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore, and then later went on to obtain an MD in Internal Medicine from the Institute of Internal Medicine in Chennai. He has also completed DM in Cardiology from the Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum. During his studies, his interests inclined towards pulmonary arterial hypertension, congestive heart failure, resistant hypertension and non-coronary intervention.

Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram has performed a variety of cardiovascular procedures at PSG and CMC (Vellore), including Coronary Interventions plain balloon coronary angioplasty, PTCA with stenting, recanalization of chronic total occlusions and bifurcation stenting. He has also performed Balloon Mitral Valvotomy, Peripheral Angioplasty, Venous Interventions and Pacemaker Implantations.

Dr. Shanmuga has also contributed to several research studies in his field and has been regularly attending trade conferences and seminars.
