Dr. Debashis Mishra

Originally from Kolkata, Dr. Debashis Misra is a youthful and energetic gastroenterologist. His areas of expertise include diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic dilatation, sclerotherapy for varices, and endoscopic hemostasis. Clinical gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy, and more complex endoscopic treatments are areas of expertise for him. Calcutta University awarded Dr. Misra an Academic Merit Scholarship in 2nd Prof, 3rd Prof Part I, and 3rd Prof Part II of his MBBS program in 2005, and he went on to get honors in the fields of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology and Community Medicine. He helped out the Ophthalmology and General Medicine departments as a Senior Class Assistant. For his exceptional and sustained scholastic achievement, he was given the Kalidas Chakrabarty Memorial Medal. He continued his education at the reputed West Bengal University of Health Sciences, earning an MD (General Medicine) in 2009 and a DM (Medical Gastroenterology) in 2013. (WBUHS). For the University Examination in DM, he received top honors. Dr. Misra was a Senior Resident and RMO cum Clinical Tutor in the Division of Medical Gastroenterology at the Institute for the Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (IPGME & R) at the School of Digestive and Liver Disorders (SDLD). Since 2014, he has held the position of Assistant Professor at IPGME & R.With an appointment, you can see him at either the Suraksha Polyclinic & Diagnostic or the Calcutta Heart Center.
