Dr. Joy Desai Reviews

Dr. Joy D. Desai is a consultant neurologist and DNB teacher for Neurology at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. During his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from the BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Dr. Joy was awarded three gold medals. He then went on to pursue his DNB in Neurology at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. There he was under the mentorship of Professors Noshir Wadia, Piroja Wadia, Sarosh Katrak, and Anil Desai. During this period, he increased his involvement in the departmental clinical research. To further polish his skills, he then moved to The Royal London Hospital, London, UK for a period of three years for a fellowship in clinical neurology. After his stint in the US, he took a three-month fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 2000. He also successfully undertook the Comprehensive Epileptology Course conducted by the Cleveland Clinic and graduated with flying colors. Dr. actively participates in the video-EEG evaluation of patients with epilepsy at Jaslok Hospital. Under his supervision, more than 90 patients have undergone epilepsy surgery after a comprehensive evaluation by the epilepsy evaluation team. He is currently the secretary of the Mumbai Epilepsy Association and an active member of Indian Medical Association.
