Dr. K.K. Pandey is the HOD & Chairman of the Oncology Department. He is a veteran in Surgical Oncology, and is one of the pioneers of this field in India. With degrees of MBBS and MS from KGMC, Lucknow, Dr. Pandey was the Medical Director & Chief Surgeon at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Center, Oncology Department, and the Sectional Editor of the News Letter of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO). He has also worked as the Consultant & Head of Cancer Surgery Department at the Safdarjang Hospital, as Surgical Registrar at the Erstwhile Irwin Hospital, and as Lecturer, Assistant & Associate Professor at the Maulana Azad Medical College & Hospital, New Delhi. He is the former President of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, and has received various distinguished awards which include the prestigious Excellence in Profession Meritorious Award, given by the Delhi Medical Association, on the eve of India’s Golden Jubilee Independence celebrations. Dr. Pandey is a published author, having articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has delivered a number of guest lectures on various Oncology subjects. More than 50 of his papers have been published, and more than 75 of his papers have been read at various conferences. He is the Chairman of a number of sessions including Indian and International conferences. He was the Chairman of RGCON-2003 - the 2nd International Conference of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre. The theme of this conference was Breast Cancer. He has delivered an oration on “Terminally Cancer Patients Management” at the Dr. S.P. Srivastava Oration at IMA. He has also participated in the Radha Devi Memorial Oration, and Motibhai Patel Oration at IASO. His keynote addresses include “Clinical & Therapeutic Aspects of Breast Cancer” at the Institute of Pathology - ICMR International Academy of Pathology (Indian Division), and “Terminally Ill Cancer Patients” at Amity Institute of Behavior (Health) Allied Sciences.
