Dr. Karthik Nagesh is currently the Chairman and HOD of the Manipal Advanced Children's Center and Chairman of Neonatology and Neonatal ICUs at the Manipal Hospitals Group as well as an Adjunct professor of pediatrics, KMC at Manipal University. He has been practicing at the Manipal Hospital since 1992. After completing his M.B.B.S from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi and training in Paediatrics from PGIMER Chandigarh, he started his medical career at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and at AIIMS.
Dr. Karthik Nagesh then moved to London, UK to pursue his training in Neonatal Intensive Care at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospitals in London, and at the Hope Hospital, University of Manchester School of Medicine. After a brief stint there, Dr. Karthik Nagesh returned to India in 1992 and pioneered the first tertiary level care Neonatal Intensive Care Units in India. He was the Head of Paediatrics at Manipal Hospital from 2001 to 2004 and later has been the Head of Neonatology.
Dr. Karthik is also the Founder and Managing Trustee of the ‘Foundation for Newborns’, a trust for sick babies and to promote newborn health. Dr. Karthik Nagesh has also invested in online doctor consultation platform JustDoc in 2015.
He is the recipient of the prestigious Fellowship of The Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health, London (FRCPCH) for his contributions in the field of Neonatology and Paediatrics.
