Dr. Mahadev D Dixit

Dr Mahadev D Dixit is a highly respected pediatric cardiologist and cardiac surgeon, currently serving as Senior Consultant in Cardiac Surgery and Head of Cardiac Sciences. With an illustrious career spanning 34 years, Dr Dixit established himself as a prominent figure in the field of cardiac surgery. He has received numerous recognitions and awards for his exceptional contributions to the medical field. Dr Mahadev Dixit completed his MBBS from JN Medical College, Belgaum, followed by MS in General Surgery from Govt. Bellary Medical College. He further pursued DNB in ​​Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVTS) from Bombay Hospital, Institute of Medical Sciences Mumbai. Thanks to his extensive training and expertise, Dr Dixit has successfully performed over 20,000 open heart surgeries, including 4,000 pediatric surgeries. He specializes in complex pediatric cardiac procedures such as arterial switches, pulmonary conduits, and Fonton and Sennigs. Dr Dixit is known for his expertise in a wide range of cardiac surgeries, from neonatal to transplant, and is recognized for his skill in minimal access surgery. Among his notable achievements is the neonatal cardiac surgery of a child weighing only 900 grams. Dr Mahadev Dixit is a distinguished member of several prestigious medical associations, including the Society of Pediatric Surgeons (USA), the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons and serves as a trustee in the Asia Heart Foundation, which is involved in establishing heart hospitals across the country. He is also the Chairman of Priyadarshini Eye Healthcare and Research Foundation, Belgaum. Before joining the Aster CMI hospital, Dr Dixit was a professor and head of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CTVS) and actively participated in the teaching and examination of candidates for MCh (CVTS) and DNB (CVTS).
