Dr. Mahesh Sambasivan

Dr. Mahesh Sambasivan is a Consultant - Neurosurgery at Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield. After completion of Graduation in Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Dr. Mahesh pursued his higher studies and super specialization in Neurosurgery from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. After successful completion of Neurosurgery Post-graduation, he underwent specialised training in Vascular and Skull base Neurosurgery from Fujita Health University in Japan. He has worked extensively in his area of special interest, ie; Microneurosurgery in Intracranial Aneurysms and Skull base neurosurgery. He was instrumental in establishing Neurosurgery department in a 400 bedded hospital in Cochin, Kerala. He was faculty for DnB training in Neurosurgery for more than 5 years. He underwent training in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, and has performed over 1000 such procedures as an extended day care surgery.

Dr. Mahesh has also received National Award for the Best Research Paper in Neurosurgery and also has excellent organisational skills. He has organised several National and International meetings/Conferences and has an extensive experience with Corporate health care sector, having worked with Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. He is also a certified ATLS Instructor, and has been a faculty conducting ATLS course in South India. In 2016, was awarded FRCS, by the Royal Colleged of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. He is an avid Classical Music enthusiast, has learnt Vedic scriptures, in addition, maintains optimal health playing cricket, and practising Yoga.
