Currently associated with Sevenhills Hospital, Mumbai, Dr. Omprakash has done his MBBS from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai while post-graduation and MD Paediatrics from GMCH Aurangabad, Neonatal and Paediatric Critical Care from NICU KEM Hospital & PICU Wadia Children's Hospital respectively.
Before departing to the UK to work in "Ninewells Hospital", he worked as Neonatology Consultant in Nest Children Hospital, Hyderabad. Ninewells Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the Europe, where he had successfully managed extremely premature infants as early as 23 weeks gestation (500gms) and full-term infants with a variety of medical and surgical illnesses.
Dr. Omprakash has an expertise in high-frequency ventilation, use of Nitric Oxide in PPHN and Therapeutic Hypothermia in babies with Asphyxia, bedsides head ultrasound and has been trained in the transportation of sick babies by road/air ambulance.
He was actively involved in research work since his graduation time. Dr. Omprakash Jamamdar has presented many posters in national conferences, attended national and international CME’s, neonatal network meeting. In UK, he was rewarded as a top recruiter in BIDS (Bronchiolitis in Infancy Discharge Study.), greatly contributed in multicentric trials like TOBY, I2S2 Study etc.
He has done NALS and PALS courses. His areas of interest are neonatal intensive care and neonatal neurology & developmental follow up.
