Dr. Paresh Doshi is the Director of Neurosurgery department (Stereotactic Surgery & Functional Surgery). He has over 27 years of experience in the field of neurosurgery. In addition to other achievements, Dr. Paresh Doshi is the First Indian Neurosurgeon to perform Deep Brain Stimulation surgery and the only Asian in the International Task Force for Movement Disorders Surgery. Not only was Dr. Paresh Doshi the first neurosurgeon to perform DBS surgery in India, he started DBS therapy in 1998, long before it was introduced in the USA in 2002. Dr. Paresh Doshi has also performed the largest number of DBS surgeries in India. In 1999, he started the Stereotactic Biopsy and Functional Neurosurgery program at Jaslok Hospital which remains to be the only dedicated and comprehensive Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgical program in India.
