Dr. P C Rath is a Senior Consultant - Cardiology in Apollo Health City, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. He completed MBBS, VSS Medical College, Orissa, 1979, MD, SCB Medical College, Orissa, 1983, DM (Cardiology), Christian Medical College, Vellore, 1986, Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology, University of Rouen, France, 1990 and Senior Fellowship for training on coronary artery stenting, University of Roune, France & Red Cross Heart Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany, 1994. Dr. Rath has performed more than 20,000 Angiograms, 3,000 PTCA, 2,500 Coronary stentings, 75 cases of Percutaneous Trans Myocardial Laser Revascularization(PTMR), 500Valvuloplasty, 200 cases of peripheral, renal, carotid Interventions including ASD and PDA closure, 12 cases of Drug-eluting stent. Dr. Pratap Chandra Rath has also developed Mitral commissurotomy along with Prof. Alain Cribier and performed first 7 cases of mitral dilatation in the world using Metallic Commissurotomy. To his credit, he was the first surgeon in India to perform Venous graft intervention and Carotid stenting using protection device.
