Dr. Rabin Chakraborty

Dr. Rabin Chakraborty is a very distinguished Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist of the country. He is consultant of Cardiology department at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata. Dr. Chakraborty completed MBBS from Calcutta University and MD in Internal Medicine from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. After completing his MBBS and MD, he further went to obtain his DNB (Medicine), DM (Cardiology) and a Post DM Fellowship in Cardiology.  Before joining Apollo Hospital, he was associated with various esteemed hospitals in India and abroad such as Sanjay Gandhi Insitute of Medical Education & Research, Lucknow; Royal Hospital, Muscat; Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital, UK. He has been a fellow member of various prestigious International and National Colleges.  He has a vast experience in the field of Interventional Cardiology and to his credit are innumerable Diagnostic Coronary Angiographies, Primary Angioplasty, PTCA with or without Stenting, Balloon Valvuloplasty, Balloon Atrial Septostomy, Percutaneous Laser Revascularisation (PTMR), Carotid and Peripheral Artery Intervention, Transcatheter Umbrella Closure Atrial Septal Defect as well as IVUS OCT and FFR studies in Angioplasty. He has also done Pacemaker Implantation, Defibrillator Implantation, and other Electrophysiology procedures. He is also well versed in all Non-Invasive Cardiology techniques.  Dr. Chakraborty has done some unique procedures such as Dual Chamber ICD Implantation with combo device in the year 2000 in Hyderabad and Rotational Coronary Angiography which was presented at the World Congress of Cardiology in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in April 1998 (a World First), among several other procedures. He has performed Primary Angioplasty in Acute Myocardial Infarction first in England, then regularly at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, and at present in Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata.
