Dr. Rakesh Kalpala

Dr Rakesh Kalapala is the Director of Endoscopy (Center for Obesity and Metabolic Therapy) at AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Having performed around 10,000 cases, he has made his name in Interventional EUS, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, Therapeutic ERCP, and Bariatric Endoscopy. Dr Kalapala has over 10 years of experience in the Medical Gastroenterology field. His areas of special interests include Bariatric Endoscopy, Endotherapy in GERD, GI Motility, EUS, ERCP. He completed his MBBS, MD in Internal Medicine from JSS Medical College, Mysore, Karnataka followed by DNB in Medical Gastroenterology from AIG, Hyderabad and Fellowship in Advanced Interventional Endoscopy from Tokyo Medical University, Japan. He has several publications in over 50 reputed journals all over the world. Dr Kalapalais a proud member of several societies like the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, Asian EUS Club, Asian Neuro-Gastroenterology Motility Association and American Association for Bariatric Endoscopy. Also, he has received the "Young Investigator Award".
