Dr. Ravi Shankar Shetty

Dr. Ravi Shankar Shetty is a Senior and Chief Consultant at MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. He has an experience of over 21 years in this field. Aiming to provide the best diagnosis for heart problems, Dr. Shetty has completed Super-specialty training in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences. Also, he has an experience of 4-year service in  Narayana Hrudayalaya. In addition to this, his work experience includes working as a Consultant at the Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Sciences and Bangalore for two years. In his medical career, he has performed more than 10000 cardiac surgeries as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in many reputed hospitals of India.

His area of interests are Cardiac surgery through minimally invasive methods, aortic surgeries, valve repairs, congenital heart disease corrections, off-pump and redo CABG, Cardiac and Renal transplant through minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Mr. Shetty also performs surgeries for patients (school children, Below Poverty Line card holders and farmers) which come under government insurance schemes for the underprivileged like Suvarna Arogya Chaithanya and Vajpayee Arogya Shree & Yeshasvini respectively.

Besides clinical work, Mr. Shetty has also been nominated in various committees including Syndicate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and Senate of the Health University of Karnataka by the Honorable Governor of Karnataka. Also, recently he has taken up the responsibility of rejuvenating HELINET(e-library of RGUHS) as the Chairman of the review committee.
