Dr. Samiran Nundy is Emeritus Consultant, Gastroenterology & Liver Transplant, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Dr. Nundy began his career in medicine as an undergraduate student in Cambridge and Guy’s Hospital, London, after which he underwent training – first in medicine at the Hammersmith Hospital and later in Surgery at the Guy’s, Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, followed by the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Samiran Nundy also taught at the University of Cambridge, London and Harvard in the U.S. before returning to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in 1975 where he taught as a Professor and later became the head of the department of Gastrointestinal Surgery. He has served on the editorial boards of numerous medical research journals like the British Medical Journal, and has been the founder editor of the National Medical Journal of India and Tropical Gastroenterology. His areas of interest include management of complicated disorders of the liver, bowel and pancreas.
