Dr. Vijay Chandra

Dr Vijay Chandra is a Senior Consultant in the department of Neurology at Primus Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi. He did MBBS from the coveted All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi. Dr Vijay Chandra has a rich and varied experience of over 35 years out of which he spent over a decade in the USA studying and teaching at University of Illinois, Johns Hopkins University and National Institutes of Health.

Dr Vijay Chandra has also been a Regional Advisor for Mental Health at World Health Organization (WHO) during which he developed and improved clinical services for mental and neurological disorders and substance abuse in 11 countries of South-East Asia. He was awarded the “Princess Mental Health Award” by Her Royal Highness, Princess Galyani Vadhana (Princess of Thailand) for creating effective mental health services in South-East Asia. He has also given lectures to a number of clinical fellows in the USA and was awarded the “ Golden Apple. Dr. Chandra is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr Vijay Chandra holds a special interest in Memory disorders, General Neurology, Epilepsy and Prevention and management of strokes. Due to his passion for the medical field, he routinely engages himself with various seminars and workshops. He is also an active member of American Academy of Neurology, American College of Epidemiology, International Epidemiology Association, World Federation of Neurology and International Psychogeriatric Association.
