At the pre-procedure stage, a doctor conducts a session with a mother wherein the former briefs the latter about several aspects associated with the surgery. Following the successful completion of a C-section surgery, the mother is asked to remain in the hospital for a few more days.

The mother will be asked to keep herself hydrated and walk for a few minutes to prevent the possibility of constipation or deep vein thrombosis. The doctor will check on the incision for any possible intervention, if necessary. A lactation consultant will guide the mother regarding breastfeeding her child safely in a way that both are well-positioned. Along with this, medications will also be prescribed to relieve her from post-surgical pain.
