1. Cervical Cancer Surgery
Based on the symptoms, stage of cancer and other health conditions, an experienced gynae oncologist can recommend either of the following surgeries for cervical cancer treatment:- Cryosurgery: In this surgery excessive cooling kills the cancer cells.
- Laser surgery: In this surgery using laser beam kills cancer cells.
- Cone biopsy: It is a specialized surgery for cervical cancer. It involves removal of a cone-shaped fragment of the cervix which has cancer cells.

2. Radiation Therapy
This involves administering high-energy beams that kill cancer cells to take care of the remaining cancer cells, after surgery. Usual radiation surgery is administered externally but in specialized cases radioactive sources that emit high energy beam may be administered in to the vagina. The usual side effects encountered during radiation therapy include skin rashes and reddening around cervix, and tiredness.3. Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is intensive therapy which addresses the aggressively multiplying cancer cells and metastasized cancer cells. It involves administering chemotherapeutic medicines. By administering the medicines into the vein they reach into the blood circulation. These reach the target site and start showing their therapeutic action. Initially they used to have severe side effects but with advancement in drug development, the chemotherapeutic drugs of today show milder side effects.
