Dr. Anil Karapurkar

A Senior Consultant at the department of Neurosurgery in Mumbai, Dr. Anil Karapurkar has over 39 years of experience in his field. One of the pioneers in Neuro interventions in India, Dr. Anil Karapurkar has a special interest is in Endovascular Neurosurgery. His expertise lies in treating diseases of blood vessels of head & neck, Brain & spine. Many patients suffering from neurovascular diseases such as aneurysms, Brain arterio-venous malformations and fistulas (AVM & AVF), brain tumors & Acute Stroke, have benefited from Dr. Anil Karapurkar's treatment methods. Apart from having conducted various workshops in interventional Neuro surgeries at KEM & Apollo hospital in Delhi; he has trained several Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and Radiologists in his specialty. Having completed his training from the KEM hospital, followed by a special training in endovascular procedures from France; Dr. Anil Karapurka went on to work as a professor. Previously, he was the president of AAFITN (Asian & Australasian Federation of Interventional Neuroradiology) and was also on the Advisory Board of WFITN(World Federation of Interventional Neuroradiology).
