About Dr. KK Talwar-

Dr Kewal Kishan Talwar is a very famous cardiologist at Pushpawati Singhania Hospital & Research Institute (PSRI). He holds an MBBS, MD (Medicine), DSc (Honor CAUSA), and DM (Cardiology). Renowned cardiologist Dr. Kewal Kishan Talwar previously served as chairman of the Medical Council of India. He is the director of the well-known Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) which is in Chandigarh, and he was the previous head of the cardiology department of AIIMS, New Delhi. He headed the cardiology department at Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket for more than six years before joining PSRI Hospital. He was listed in the LIMCA Book of World Records in 1997 and is recognized for performing the first implant of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) in South Asia. The LIMCA Book of World Records lists him as the one who introduced cardiac resynchronization therapy to India.

He has received numerous honors, including the top Indian award in the medical field, and the Dr. B. C. Roy Award. He is a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and a past president of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS). For his services to medicine, the Indian government bestowed upon him the third-highest civilian honor, the Padma Bhushan, in 2006.

His research on cardiac arrhythmia led to the creation of the AIIMS heart failure and heart transplant program as well as the specialty of that condition in India. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, with 240 articles and 270 abstracts among the publications that serve as documentation. In addition, he has written fifteen chapters for several medical texts.
