Dr. Sabyasachi Bal has done MBBS in 1981 followed by MS in General Surgery in 1984 from AIIMS New Delhi. Further, he pursued DNB National Board of Examinations India in 1987. Afterward, he has undertaken a fellowship program from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1991, UICC fellowship from the University of Washington in 1994, Varoon Mahajan Fellowship from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre USA in 1999. He was also a part of Escorts Raj Nanda Pulmonary fellowship program from the University of Leicester UK in 2001. He also joined Robotic Thoracic Surgery Fellowship Duke University Medical Center in 2015.
Dr. Sabyasachi Bal has been an active member of various organizations including Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, Japan Society of Surgery and Indian Association of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeons.
Dr. Sabyasachi Bal was awarded ‘Norman Tanner Best Paper’ from Royal Society of Medicine UK. He also won the ‘Best Paper Award’ by the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology. He won ‘V Ramalingaswami Prize’ for the ‘Best Intern’ from AIIMS New Delhi.
