About Dr. Sumeet Shah -

With 26 years of expertise, Dr. Sumeet Shah is a general, laparoscopic, and bariatric surgeon. After earning his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi in 1993, he went on to accomplish his MS in General Surgery at the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur in 1998, and his DNB in General Surgery at the National Board of Examination.

Dr. Sumeet Shah has received advanced training in Gastro-Intestinal Surgery from AIIMS, New Delhi. After that, he was awarded a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery by the Indian Association of Gastro-Intestinal Endosurgeons (FIAGES), where he also received specialized training in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The physician also received an Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship in Hernia and Bariatric Surgery.

As a Senior Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Sumeet Shah has worked at numerous significant, esteemed institutions in Delhi. He has performed live surgeries, mentored a number of up-and-coming surgeons in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, and is on the executive committee of the Obesity Surgery Society of India (OSSI).

He holds memberships in several organizations: the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons (IAGES), the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS), the Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS), the Hernia Society of India (HSI), the Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society of India (OSSI), the Faculty at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education (EISE), and the CEMAST (Centre of Excellence for Minimal Access Surgery Training), both located in Karl Storz, Mumbai, India.

With over 100 national and international meetings of laparoscopic and bariatric surgeons under his belt, Dr. Shah has been invited as faculty or expert and has given multiple presentations. Over fifty of his invited papers have been presented at various expert events.
