Dr. Suparno Chakrabarti

Dr. Suparno Chakrabarti is a Senior Consultant and a Hemato-Oncologist of national repute. Associated with the Dharamshila Hospital & Research Centre in New Delhi, he is an eminent Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist, known for his work in developing advanced transplantation methods, such as, Reduced Intensity Transplantation. With degrees of MBBS & MD from PGIMER, Chandigarh, he was awarded the Fellowship in BMT from the Birmingham Heartland’s Hospital & Bristol Children’s Hospital, and the Fellowship in Hematology from the Royal College of Pathologists (London, UK). Prior to joining the Dharamshila Hospital & Research Centre, he has worked with many reputed organizations. He was the Consultant Hemato-Oncologist & Program Director in the Department of Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology at the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital (Kolkata), Consultant Hematologist in the Oncology Department at the St. George Hospital (London), Consultant Hematologist at the City Hospital (Birmingham, UK), Specialist Registrar in the Hematology Department at West Midlands (UK), and Consultant & Assistant Professor in Clinical Hematology, Department of Internal Medicine, PGIMER (Chandigarh). Trained in Hematology and BMT from the CMCH Vellore, he has undertaken research in Cell Transplantation at the St George's Hospital, London. With over 100 publications and similar number of presentations in International meetings & conferences, he is the Peer Reviewer for several scientific journals including the Blood, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Hematologica, British Journal of Hematology, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Biology of Blood & Marrow Transplantation, JAMA, Lancet, & more. Dr. Chakrabarti has been invited worldwide to talk on various subjects and has been nominated in the Expert Committee for European & International Bone Marrow Transplant Organizations. He is a member of a number of organizations, including the Working Party on Infectious Diseases of the European Blood & Marrow Transplantation Society, the Expert Working Committee of CIBMTR on Post-Transplant Infection Prevention, ASH (American Society of Hematology), BSH (British Society of Hematology), BSBMT (British Society of Blood & Marrow Transplantation), Scientific Working Group on 'QoL & Symptoms' of European Hematology Association, and ASBMT (American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation). He is the Reviewer of grant proposals for AIRC (The Italian Association for the Search on the Cancer), and member of the Editorial Board for the ‘Current Cell Research & Therapy’ (CSCRT), Advances in Hematology, Med J. Hematol Infect.
