Dr. Uma Vaidyanathan is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi. With degrees of MBBS from the Seth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai, she pursued her MS & DNBE (Diplomate of National Board of Examinations) from the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College & General Hospital. With a special interest in Hormonal issues in young girls, low & high-risk Pregnancies, Urinary problems in older women, and Minimally Invasive Surgeries, such as, Laparoscopic Hysterectomies, she has been associated with other reputed institutions.
Dr. Uma Vaidyanathan has worked as a WHO Coordinator at the Safdarjung Hospital and assisted in performing a facility based critical review of the causes of Maternal Mortality. Later she joined the prestigious AIIMS and worked as a Research Fellow in Foetal Medicine, where she garnered valuable experience in managing high-risk Pregnancies & Congenital Malformations in Pregnancies.
Academically & clinically accomplished, Dr. Uma Vaidyanathan has been bestowed with several awards, including the Dr. N.A. Purandare Conference Prize for the Best Paper in ‘Operative Obstetrics’ at the Annual Conference of MOGS in Mumbai in March 2005, Dr. D.K. Tank Prize for the Best Presentation of a case report at the Annual Conference of MOGS in Mumbai in March 2005, Conference Prize for the Best Paper at the Annual Conference of the National Association for Reproductive & Child Health of India, Delhi Chapter in September 2006, and many more.
